I’ve been home one week and I’ve not gotten into trouble, yet. The great thing for me is my needs to correct things. Often times I wait to see if things are self correcting and when I’m convinced not then I try to twist the energy toward a helpful direction. My patience has refined over the years. I can see things are either going to be fine or if they are going to end in grief. Sometimes I see the grief after the fact and sometimes that condition is not as bad as it looks. In all, a little time and minor repair and general acceptance of the injury makes for a basic o.k. ending. I mean we have to live with our consequences. Unless of course it is a constant oppressive situation. Then the hero within has to act quickly and accurately.
On social media today a friend made a comment about not putting up with things any longer. It was a beautiful statement that was made in the moment of disgust and final straw. Here it is used as a line of dialog in a fictional very short story of mine. My friend is beautiful but I cannot find a picture of her that would suit this story so I have borrowed one of Angela Davis. I hope you enjoy it. I wonder if you can guess the other character. Peace out.

MATRIANYA
Matrianya got to her feet and scanned the horizon for movement. None she could detect. She buckled on the harness of weaponry with weariness. Goofy George waited for his orders. Matrianya smiled benevolently upon the old beast.
“I really would rather not be a rabble-rouser. I have simply lost my patience with bullshit. I am a super reluctant rebel.
I actually looked for a nice positive feminist mom t-shirt, but I don’t have the time or the patience to be nice anymore.”
Goofy George peed himself with delight and anticipation.
Further along through this day I was on the phone with colleague Bill Patten. He is spear heading an effort to recruit more people to become Alternatives to Violence Program (AVP) facilitators. He is close to contacting guest speakers to help us draw a crowd up near Rockland next month.
I spoke also with the programs director at Two Bridges County Jail in Wiscasset for a similar reason. I want to reconnect the AVP program there for future use in a common effort with community service in the Boothbay Region. We have the energy and the ability to do good things with other agencies to keep our citizens happy and out of prisons. More will be revealed.
