Dear Louise

two violins

I met Louise online. A web site for meeting people. Green Singles. We got along nicely. She is a writer and I a peace activist and volunteer in prisons. We met at her sister’s house in Vermont. She and I became good friends and visited either in Vermont or in North Carolina at her home. She rescued mice and insects from her house. She live-trapped and carried them outdoors.

Here I sit this morning five years later wondering about Louise and how she is doing. I listen to Bach, mostly violins. She always comes to mind when I listen to Bach violins. You need to find a copy of J.S. Bach Violin Concerto for Two Violins in D Minor 2nd movement.

Wear something loose and silky. While the music plays read this poem.

LARGO MA NON TANTO

J.S. Bach Violin Concerto for Two Violins D Minor

Reverie –

Violins singing to me,

Beckoning, leading,

Inviting me,

Yearning to be mine,

I hear you.

The promise of love in this moment,

Fingers in hair, scalp responding with shear

Delight!

Brow smoothed and eye lids weighted,

Our spirits soar – bodies respond,

Leaning in,

Arms encircle.

The love of lovers,

Lips meeting, brushing,

Tracing the landscape of

Breast and thigh,

Inhaling thick and sweet vapor,

Tasting, filling a void

With salt and scent.

I feel the ocean and the desert,

Rolling with wave and dune,

Our bodies warm and wet,

Clinging and pressing together,

No time, no space as we fill and fill,

Move to the sweet violin’s strains,

The bow plays the strings,

We stir, vibrate, and thrill.
