Have You Ever Seen an Orca? Now’s Your Chance.

Orca in Peas

THREAD HANGING

A killer whale jumping in a bowl of green peas,

I found it between vi and vii,

A slick photo with no print or explanation

A strand of ideas snapped and dead ended,

Glossy and colorful and smooth to touch.

What I was looking for is gone for the moment

And I can’t get it back nor do I care,

The killer whale which I want to say Orca

Jumps high and falls into the peas,

With hands free a thought hangs to this new thread.

The glass filament of Stephen Berg breaks,

Dangles in the air,

I’m off to the Pacific Ocean to watch two

Orcas charging alongside M/V Lulu showing

Curiosity about this steel pig filled with creatures.

The Orca in the peas joins Stephen between 360 and 361,

The poet is glad for the company,

He smiles his appreciation, cigarette smoke

Slides up his countenance,

He chuckles and demands “Ollie, Answer Me”.
