A Warm Evening Feast

A Warm Evening Feast

To extend the beauty of the afternoon

I went to dear friend Tina’s blog and left a

border-line love-note,

I felt the hunger of the day and the sun

Lowering to go to the potato patch

On the other side of the house,

There I dug up two anemic plants

Which yielded seven or eight small spuds.

I took them into the kitchen and prepared a small feast.

A one-pan feast.

A few tablespoons of olive oil,

(Because I was really low on safflower oil)

It was necessary to supplement four of the small potatoes

With a handful of Thompson raisins,

Three tiny tomatoes that were a product of a

Failed straw-bale effort,

A few cups of frozen organic broccoli, and

An organic vegan Italian sausage sliced and diced,

Pink sea salt and pepper to taste.

A feast absolutely.
