BLACKFISH CREEK

Sarah in the kitchen singing,
Roger rumbles through lugging a crate of veggies,
Do you want tea?
Yes please,
I’m making black,
Oh, good…
Roger rumbles past – carrying a box of veggies,
Sit outside – the table is nice,
I can’t see the table…I go anyway,
Nadine is a statue – learning a lesson on-line seated,
Roger is right – he passes by hauling a big container or veggies,
Nadine expands her base; her horizons spread,
I look around at piles of squash with Italian names – an elephant observes,
Sarah sings in the kitchen – sweet tunes,
Nadine is stuffing her head with thoughts,
Roger grunts past with another huge box of veggies,
I taste like tea; I smell like mellow, Sarah smiles and sings,
Nadine flips a switch and touches a button; getting smart,
Bumble-bees are mimicking Roger,
Extra, extra, I write all about it.

  1. From friend Robert Driscoll:
*The table was a large one, but the three were all crowded together at one corner of it: “No room! No room!” they cried out when they saw Alice coming. ” There’s PLENTY of room!” said Alice indignantly, and she sat down in a large arm-chair at one end of the table.*
