AWARENESS
In those first moments of day when I am the center of the universe still
Waking from my bed,
Outside,
Sitting,
Sipping the coffee deliciously waking and feeling the sun on my back,
Warming me – almost returning me to sleep,
My eye wanders to the left – the voice that guides my movements
Whispers a command and tells me to just look.
Just look around,
What do you see?
Don’t even move your head – let the eyes inform,
A chorus of dandelions – other wild flowers
Hushed by my presence,
Bright yellows trying for inconspicuous,
One pale pink tulip tall commanding that square foot of unmown space,
Blues and whites decorating all that is green,
Accents that quietly declare portraits
Of loose harmony.
Just look around.

Thank you, Tracy. I miss our sporadic writer group meetings and just you in general.
Nice, serene way to start your day. Geobiological center of the universe.
It was one of those sleepy, groggy aha! moments.
