Whispers

WHISPERS

It comes to me like breaking news. The ancient ‘aha’ moment visited upon people forever clarifies for just a brief moment while I’m watching a documentary on trees. I hear and see on the screen the chemicals, the chemicals that cure or prevent cancer, the chemistry that provides anti-bodies for life and survival. I imagine what is it I am feeling at the moment when this knowledge comes to me. What do I generate above me that causes me to feel love or compassion? Or, do I feel the love and compassion and then generate the chemistry that is expressed from my being and shoots away from me to others on the wind?

I love walking in the woods, in the forest, being near the trees that thrive above my head near my house. I often sit near them to reflect on my own existence and to casually gaze up and down their length and breadth to notice the glistening of the sap, the juice, that substance that pushes out from the spaces in the covering of the trunk or the ends of the branchlets to stick and smear our fingers and clothing. The scented sap that tells us how much we don’t even know about the tree. In the late afternoon of the day I can see the sap drops glisten like jewels. Shine like diamonds; brilliant, bright like the sun itself. Other times the green-yellow dust shot like from a cannon floats and travels great distances and covers everything and gets into our throats and nostrils to remind us ever again how little we know about the tree.

If you sit quietly, if you walk gently, if you stand still in the forest you will gain a great deal of mental health because these whispers from the trees in the forest will enter your body as you breathe. You will be whispered in the direction of good health and vitality without moving a muscle. The trees will bathe you in their wisdom and their altruistic medium of caring and love. These whispers of love come to us free of charge. Go walk, sit, stand under that canopy of relief, pain killers, anti-bodies, and curing agents and thrive! Go! Then go out into the world and do likewise for others of your species. Go be a tree for humans.

    1. Thanks, Lynne. Good to see you! I found the documentary “Call of the Forest, The Forgotten Wisdom of Trees”. Amazon. Wonderful international discoveries and told by people from those places.
      Peace, g

  1. I feel as you do in so many ways…we MUST all turn back to our mother—the earth…heal her and we will heal.
No more corporate rape of life. Ask the ancient ones.
