Playing Fair and Being Kind

“Philadelphia police have publicly released body camera footage and 911 recordings of the police killing of Walter Wallace Jr as they named the officers responsible for the shooting and announced a series of reforms.” *

To be honest, if I were to be approached by an officer of the law who was scared shitless that I might do something to him/her that would be dangerous, painful, disrespectful I would definitely do that thing in their eyes regardless of the truth. No matter which way I turned or which hand I raised or which foot I put forward or backward or sideways, I would have chosen the move that was the wrong move. If you have ever lived with a violent bully you know exactly what I mean. We don’t need people dressed in combat gear, that is designed to intimidate, going to the scene of a disturbance with the intention of restoring calm. How the fuck is that supposed to work? The same as throwing water on a grease fire.

Now take the above situation and color it in. The police are white and Walter Wallace is black. I’ll leave you to your grief and angry thoughts.
