I’ve Had Enough of the Cold. Tom Robertson. Grace Lorraine

I’m reposting a Facebook entry (1st paragraph) from this morning. Not lazy or indifferent, just trying to keep up with the clock. Or ahead of it depending what is on the big and little hands for me. Here goes.

Jeezum Crow! I feel I’m living Groundhog Day! I wake up sometime before 6 A.M. Make coffee, drink it, repeat. Second cup gets me up on the step. I look out the window to see the thermometer on the Royal Tree Stump indicates 0 degrees F. There is a light snow falling, on top of the light snow that fell yesterday and the day before. I notice that I am undressed standing in the middle of The Castle. No chill, no goosebumps. My blood is now thicker than molasses. I can’t remember a day above freezing. In fact I don’t want a day above freezing. I’m afraid my blood will shoot out through the pores in my skin.

I’ve got a runny nose as well as a bit of a scratchy throat. This concerns me. Due to my age I need to pay close attention to my daily health. I’m not that concerned but it is time to adjust my thinking about how bullet proof I am now. The little things that get overlooked are those that can be fatal. I admit that I have been sitting too long too often lately. I will go out and clean snow off the car and truck and get the mail from the mailbox by the road. Not much but better than stuck in the recliner. I am going to email my men’s group compatriots to tell that I’m staying clear of them for the same reasons. Don’t want to spread this crud any further than it needs.Yeti

I’m planning on a trip to the southland some time in February. I want to visit Tom and Olga for a while and to visit the Barber Motorsports Museum in Birmingham, Alabama. Tom has his car preserved at the museum. He has been asked to speak at a dedication on the 17th of February. I want to be there for that. Below is a news clipping of Tom’s win over a couple of favored drivers.

Tom in the middle basking in glory much to the chagrin of Mueller, right.

Later in the excursion south I want to take a ten day Master Cleanse in Charleston with Grace, my east coast vegan guru. That will be a treat for sure.
There is a lot going on this late winter that will take a good deal of coordination. The Castle is being upgraded. This will necesitate my getting out of the building to facilitate the construction guy’s work. So I need to go south and linger here and there. I’m building an itinerary on the cheap. Maybe a stop in Cherry Point is in order. I can get a room there for 30 bucks a night. I’ll also visit Rae and Nicole.

O.K. I gotta go. Here is one I forgot about. I like it. Needs a little work but I can share it with you as is. I was sitting outside in The Royal Gardens here at The Castle listening to the birds. It was nesting season. I hope you enjoy it.

GAIA PRESENTS

Some are calling or

Announcing,

Some warn away intruders.

Unseen but Heard –

Sitting high, calling loudly,

insistently,

I imagine:

“Hey, Louise, I’m waiting in these trees!”

or

“Hold it right there, Bud!”

This open air venue with

free seating twenty four hours a day,

Productions daily all year long,

Authors rotate through the seasons.

The best seats

in the house.

The shows begin

when I arrive.

The curtain is always up

and

Some one or Some thing is always

Treading the boards.

The plot is never Clear but is ever Captivating.

I laugh, I cry, I applaud.

  1. Hi Jorge, The cold weather here is over! (+60F) 73F today and warming up back to normal and back to shorts… come on down when ever you are ready. Get away from that insanity! Cheers, Tom

    1. Congratulations on such a lovely win–leading the last eight laps on a borrowed engine!?!
Tremendous! It’s back to cold-enough-to-see-your-breath in coastal South Carolina….please could you let me pitch a tent in your yard? 🙂

  2. ♥️ If a Master Cleanse is contraindicated, maybe we could do a monodiet or a juice feast? It’s just not feeling like the right time of year for that…. No matter what, it will be such a pleasure to see you again! ♥️
